Functional Solutions Model of Disability
The functional Solutions Model acknowledges and identifies limitations presented due to disability and seeks to bridge the gap through technological and methodological innovation.
My
Theory
I created this concpetual design to represent the transaction among a company, the consumers, and the context.
1
The facets are not separate or parallel, instead all of these components interact to determine results and outcomes. If a company or business‘ core is focused on inclusion, diversity, and accessibility the draw bridge is lowered allowing all consumers to access the product.

IOS
Mobile
APP
In an effort to address gaps in my skill set I decided to create an IOS mobile app. While collaborating and coordinating with a team of skilled providers of varying disciplines is not a novelty, I wanted to gain more experience working with other professionals and further insight into managing a concept from idea to creation. Through this process I was able to work with an engerieer, learn API basics, better understand UI/UX principles, and practice interpreting and providing feedback.
Documentation is important for tracking progress and insurance reimbursement but often feels repetitive, time consuming, and interrupts momentum within my day. I created an app to streamline my documentation so I would have more time to focus on planning effective treatment interventions and maintain the flow of my work day.

Long-handled adjustable angle hairbrush
Tripod grasp
glove
Targeting limited range of motion throughout upper body
Giraffe neck extension affords adjustment to angle and requires less shoulder/elbow extension
round brush head eliminates need for rotation at wrist to maintain application with standard brush head
Targeting tripod grasp with separation of precision and stability sides of hand
Opening for first 3 fingers with glove providing gentle pressure to maintain position of last 2 fingers in palm

Ear pockets to add weight to provide input to wrist for application on writing surface to create movement from fingers/wrist rather than elbow/shoulder
